Hi, I’m Elia!
My work lives at the intersection of therapy, birth work, art, and land. As a queer licensed associate clinical social worker, full-spectrum doula, and interdisciplinary artist, I am drawn to healing as a relational process that unfolds through connection to self, others, and the living world. Over the past four years, living and working on farms has grounded this understanding in lived experience, rooting my practice in the rhythms of daily care, seasonality, and reciprocity.
I have long been fascinated by birth and the many ways families come into being, as well as the emotional landscapes that shape us — the attachment, rupture, resilience, and longing that move through family systems. Growing up with two mothers and knowing I was conceived through donor insemination, I began early on to question the boundaries of nature and nurture. I learned that family is both biological and chosen — born of intention, care, and courage. Birth was never abstract to me; it was the story of my own becoming.
I also witnessed the medical, legal, and cultural systems that shape who is supported in building a family and whose bodies are marginalized in the process. These early experiences inform my commitment to reproductive justice, queer liberation, and the ongoing work of challenging oppressive systems. My practice is gender-affirming, trauma-informed, and rooted in the belief that all people deserve dignity, safety, and agency in their reproductive and emotional lives.
In my work, I hold space for thresholds - birth, loss, and transformation - and approach these experiences collaboratively with the people I support. Analog photography extends this practice, allowing me to witness these shifts while weaving my art and care work together. I look forward to connecting with you and offering support!
